Since no one is blogging... -_-" 'Betulkan yang biasa, biasakan yang betul...' That's what my Malay teacher, Pn Ruaida taught me. She said that we use so much slang these days we're hardly right in our language anymore. She even gave this one scenario... Hari Raya. One aunty asked her niece (who was still a child). A: Suna, cantik kasut Suna! Suna beli kat mana? S: Suna beli dekat Pizza Hut. All the aunts started laughing. The child, who was confused, goes to her mother. S: Mak, Mak! Betul kan Mak! Beli dekat Pizza Hut, kan!? Dekat. 'dekat' What does 'dekat' mean? Near. Sure, her tatabahasa was wrong (the correct one would have been "Suna beli dekat dengan Pizza Hut") but she IS still a kid. In a way, she was correct while her aunts interpreted it wrongly, coz of the slang theywere used to. This coming from someone who has neva gotten an A for BM since UPSR.
